In the early twentieth century, Iran was a burgeoning state on its way to nationalizing its resources. It was not a "terroristic" state.
On August 19, 1953, the military, backed by street protests organized and financed by the CIA, overthrew Mossadeq.
The Shah was put back in power and the west got to exploit Iran for its resources once again.
Until January 16, 1979 when the people of Iran had enough and revolted against the tyrannical Shah.
But the new regime became the "terroristic" state we know today. And it all started with a coup backed by the CIA.
The Ayatollah continues to project blame onto the west instead of addressing the civil unrest.
